Why is it so hard to get Louder Recordings?

Dood I compress everything, on each track, and on the master as it goes to streo wav. Then I take that and put it through a mastering suite which adds more compression limiter/expander.

Doesnt do a whole lot

Well, then you are doing something wrong. With a limiter, as long as the mix isn't unbalanced somehow, you should just be able to crank it and make it as loud as you need.

Also, the more midrange content you have, the louder it will seem.

You didnt even know what a fuckin roll is, and you want to fight with me. Let me hear your drums, let me see how they are vastly superior to mine, u dolt. I use the parts it comes with dipshit, that drum roll is as is, i didnt lower it

I was trying to help you dickwad, not fight with you, and clearly I know a shit load more about programming MIDI drums than you do, and there aren't many people here that do, so you're getting nothing from me, master songwriter....

Apart from being a snide prick, what else do you do?

yeah everybody who gives a snide comment, and then comments to GREG L about what MY software does, is trying to "help" me. NOT make me look like a stooge.

You can say you know this and everything else, but your DRUMS are nothing to write home about. They dont perform any better than mine, if you have any kind of an ear you can hear that.

Now does every drum track have to be Buddy Rich? No, so lets stop talking about "stock" drums. 9 out of 10 drum tracks for professional drums are "stock"

Man, you're making yourself look like a stooge. And that's putting it mildly. People have actually tried to help you in spite of your attitude, and you respond with more attitude. What is your problem?

Show me one answer where the person tried to "help" me. They answer cause they like to hear themselves speak, and for other people to read what they say. And then they echo what somebody else said like +1. Instead of trying to be helpful they are trying to be noticed.

Show me one HELPFUL comment

Here's one: Figure out how to use what you have. Don't be a whiny little girl crying to the internet mommy that one button can't do it all and take some responsibility for your mixes. If you can't figure something out on your own, go knit something. (no offense to those who knit). And your comment about those who like to hear themselves speak is quite funny.

Same helpful tidbits that appear in this thread.

Nice talking like a tough guy on the internet too. =weasel

LOL no, I use two tape recorders in my home. Yes I use sonar, i also have magix and cubase

You guys dont seem to get what I mean, with compression and limiters, the overall effect of the recording is not as loud as others I hear. if I try to get louder it gets distorted, and people will say it's clipping.

I had asked how you were coming out of your computer to determine how you could helped. This is how you responded.

I will be honest, I didn't know if you were serious or not. There are many who use Analog machines. Using computers only when they have too. EZ does have a stand alone. So you could possibly come out of EZ straight from a computer card. Then limiters and what not would have to be analog.

So question, are you using an interface or computer sound card? Do you want to work through the problem or stay pissed? There are many people who can help.

Im not pissed, I just dish out the same shit that is given. EZ drummer is always through sound card, it has to be. guitar I track through guitar rig interface and have been singing the same way. Bass i play on a controller, piano and keys the same. basicly I track keeping on eye on the led levels, I try to keep it out of the red even in heavier parts. sound card, first of all I use a laptop abd got a sound blaster usb sound card.

I know how to track and the basic ideas of everything. I just dont get a very loud production

EZ drummer, DI guitars, "controller" bass, hmmmm, no wonder you can't make a good mix. You have no air.

I know you're just trolling, same as you always do, and I think we're all having a laugh, but really playing the victim card is lame. Man up.

Yeah, but that is supposedly the "benefit" of using guitar rig, dont need to mic anything, I cant wake up neighbors either. Guitar rig people will argue that this is how it is done today, I never get anything but a weak guitar sound

I know you actually do reside in satans butthole

I get all that. I know not everyone can bang drums and crank guitars day and night. I'm just saying, "not needing to mic anything" might be a strong selling point but a mix full of fake stuff is gonna struggle more than a mix full of real stuff. I don't know why it is the way it is, but sound waves slamming a microphone just comes out better than simulated sound waves virtually slamming a simulated microphone. That's not so say it can't be done. It can. It's done by professionals and knowledgeable and experienced home recorders all the time. But you're neither so far, and your fake, vague questions don't really give anyone anything to go on. :(

Whatever, forget it
