Hey guys,

new to the forum, and figured I'd start with this!

I have a song that has been put on the back burner for awhile, its somewhat mixed, mainly VSTi's mixed in with some live guitar through GR5
I honestly have NO idea what I want to  , make it a big jam session, make it instrumental funk (squib cakes style) sing on it, ( or make someone else better sing on it :laughings: )

let me know what you guys think: https://soundcloud.com/chet-gass/new-funk-song-idea

I'm totally open to collaborations, anyone want to jam over it, whatever, although this is all I have so far :)

Pretty good little funk tune. I could see wanting to put some substance in the middle. I could see a good bass funk line (sorry, I suck at bass) and some good lead and rhythm guitar. I think there might be some takers. If not, hit me up and I can always give it a shot. (Not guitar or bass, just try to add more substance)

I am a session guitar player in Tampa/orlando area so the guitar solos aren't a big worry for me, I always seem to find a place to sneak some of those in ;)

for the bassline, I could see a funky slap bass groove in some areas, However one of the main focal points I was hoping to achieve is the Moog bass, it was the basis of the whole song, and I'm impartial to the sound of a funky moog bassline :)
What would be awesome is if someone wanted to play Sax over it, other than singing, its the instrument that I would hear in my head. its in Eb so its an easy key. I play just enough saxophone to be irritating, but if anyone does play saxophone and wants to jam over it, I'm all open to that! :D

I would never offer my playing to anyone. Not that I am that proud, it is I am just that bad. Plus you being a session player, even more reason not to offer.

Here is a thought, take your Moog track and try some sidechaining with your guitar or a kick or both to give it some groove, maybe run some sends with different EQs to bring out different parts at different times (automation sweep). You probably have enough there that playing with the sounds would get you what you wanted.

I think there may be a few sax players on the site, but no one off the top of my head.
