Stuart Gort on lead guitar and background vocals (Spokane)
Tjarko Busink on bass (Netherlands)
Frank Basile (Smart Loops) on drums (Naples FL)
Stan Brown on slide (San Fran)
Me on the rest ... (Podunkville CT)

One of the few of mine where "the band" is "totally real", and "live" -- no midi on this! :)

Please enjoy!

Best,

Kev-

I think there's too much snap/crack on the snare for the song.
Even with the above this sounds like a bought one!
Well done chaps!

Really, verrrry good! Good song, and I like the breaks in it. That slide guitar is delicious. The lead and backing vocals are very well done and sound great. Excellent job on the drums, too.

That single-coil sounding guitar on the right has a little bit of a harsh "air" to it in the intro relative to the rest of the frequencies on the instrument, and also it gets lost when the rest of the band comes in.

But holy cow, good job!

Everything sounds great. Performances are spot on. The bass makes this for me, right in the pocket. This is actually sounding a bit too professional for 'home' recording. Top collab

Goes to show taste, Ray ... I actually think it's not cracking through enough -- so I guess it must be fine. :)

Glad you liked!

Yeah ... I probably should have better defined it ... but it really is only meant to carry the opening and then blend unnoticed into the rest of the arrangement. There are FAR more interesting players doing FAR more interesting playing. :)

Thanks for the comments!

Both Tjarko and Stu are "magic". Everything they musically touch is unexpectedly brilliant and jumps to next level. I practically had to beg Tjarko to play on this -- as he kept telling me his wife forbade him from playing on blues shuffle tunes for philosophical reasons.

Eventually he conceded and suddenly the foundation, the glue, cohered all the performances. You're right, K -- it's in the pocket and perfect.

Huh?

Best Mix Award goes to this one, though. It's so ready.

That sounds real nice. Excellent job, nice mix, good performances.

Enjoyed that, thanks for sharing it.

What a great song! I liked the recording very much, though it seemed to lack the "glue" some refer to on my first listen but I think that would detract from the feel of this recording after listening again without focusing on parts. The slide with delay really gives it a personality and I love the background vocals, they're so laid back, or "chill" as the kids say. Great job and cool to see a worldwide effort, I always wanted to try that.

You're welcome! I'm home sick in front of the TV watching "Live from Daryl's House" on Palladia ... and it only reminds me how important the roster of musicians are. When the band kicks butt, it just works right.

Stu originally sent the lead guitar parts ... and the background vocals arrived a little later ... Stan then layered on the slide -- and like I said above, certain folks can create magic with music.
