Finally the AQ-65 is here :)

After years of looking for a decent one, i finally found an AQ-65 for my MS16 machine. Thanks to a very nice member of this forum that sold it to me

Now i am trying to improvise a roll around cart for it. Like the original Tascam CS-64 that was designed for it. Any ideas on what to use to build/adapt a similar thing ? assuming the CS-64 is unobtanium, but who knows...maybe i am lucky.

About alternates to the CS-64, you might be able to fashion the lower section out of a wheeled office chair base. For the top section, it might be best to try fashioning your own by copying the original metal clamp design which your MS-16 manual should diagram pretty decently. Maybe get a local metal fabricator to build it off the drawing in the manual.

I needed a holder on wheel for my remote, so I bought a gas lift stool, like this, and throw away the seat part, made a top to hold the remote, screwed it on and bingo.

Don't have a photo at the moment. My remote was a table top type remote, I also wanted it to be able to take the MX2424 remote or the MSR16 remote, so its just a piece of flat pine 1/2" thick that I had around the place, still looks classy.

What I would do for the AQ-65 is to mount it so that you look almost straight down onto the face. You could get a piece of pine and cut out the hole for the AQ-65 leaving a bit more meat on one side so that you could bolt it to the stool strut or another option is to make a bracket out of some thin walled RHS square tubing to bolt it on. Depends if you are handy with wood or steel.

The Stool option gave me a set of wheels and an adjustable strut for height adjustment so well worth the $48. A studio near me uses an AQ-65 and they have it mounted onto the front of the console frame to one side and looking straight up.
