How to Prevent Guitar Track from getting Exhausting/Boring

My drums are red, my bass is blue, my vocals are green, and my guitars are yellow. That makes everything sound the best it can sound. :D

I think Springsteen uses blue for drums......Go figure. :p

Genuine question though, since it has come up.
Do any of the wordsmiths out there rate Springsteen? Forgetting about music and production values.
I have a pal who holds him up like some idol, but I really don't know his music/lyrics well enough to have an opinion.

As much as I can't stand his music, and seeing him spin that guitar around his body 100 times at the Superbowl was one of the corniest and most embarrassing things I've ever seen in rock music, I have to say that his lyrics flow well and he tells a good story. Actually, I don't think I've ever heard anyone cram more lyrics into a song as he does.

I can only name one Springsteen song, Born In The U.S.A and that's shit!

Did he do a song about Memphis? I recall a song from the 90's. I think it was him. That was a pretty good song. I know nothing else about him.

I recently discovered that I'm aware of a shitload more Springsteen songs than I first realised, even though I don't know them well.
There was a 2 hour radio show dedicated to him here a few weeks back, because he was live in Belfast the following night.
I happened to be listening because I was expecting a plug that night, but pretty much every song I was like.....That's Springsteen?

Someone said about covers there. I always thought "Growing up" was a David Bowie song.

I thought all his fucking songs are about Memphis.

Walking in Memphis = Marc Cohn

He roamed the USA for awhile after he left Asbury Park, NJ...then he ended up in Nebraska....then headed for Philadelphia...
...I don't know if he ever went walking in Memphis.

I really like Born to Run. That's a great rock and roll song. The rest of his catalog is rotten feces.

Yeah, it's a good tune. Funny how everyone claims that his drummer, who's name escapes me now, is rock solid. He speeds up and slows down like it's nobody's business, especially in "Born To Run", but that's besides the point. I truly believe that if anyone came out in the late 70's and wrapped their music in the American flag and all that shit, they would have been hailed as rock and roll saviors no matter how shit the music was. His timing was perfect. America was looking for someone to be an "American Rocker", and he was smart enough to take advantage of that with his jingoistic anthems.

I'll always remember seeing part of a Springsteen show on TV in the late 70's and noticing that, for the first time, rock and roll audiences were starting to look like a bunch of jocks, as opposed to real rock audiences. All these fucking monkeys screaming "Bruuuuuuuce" because it was the cool thing to do. Fuck off.

In case I haven't made it clear, I'm not a big Springsteen fan. :D

I remember when I was a kid my mom really liked Bruce Springsteen. I remember always asking her to turn it off.

I see Bruce fans the same way you see Beatles fans. You've said that you really believe most Beatles fans are only fans because they think they're supposed to be. I always felt the same thing was happening with Springsteen fans. A bunch of nerdy American college kids that were never into music, all of a sudden thinking they needed to pretend to like this guy because it's the cool thing to do.

I think it's safe to say that both springsteen and the beatles are pure shit!
