My daughter is starting college studying music and her instrument is her voice and she needs to ger her own headphone can anyone recommend any and where I would get them thanks

What does she need them for? Listening or recording?

+1,
The very best sound quality it is generally agreed, is given by open back headphones but you cannot use them near open mics because of sound leakage (they also piss other people off!) .

Then, college huh? Most likely get busted or stolen in a week. I would go for something good but cheap like Sennheiser HD202s. Get her 2 sets and keep a backup pair at home to send PDQ!

Dave.

There are literally hundreds of options when it comes to headphones. As a previous poster mentioned open back headphones do give a more spacious and realistic sound, however in a recording environment they are not suitable. I would look at something like the Beyerdynamic DT770 if you can get hold of some, they are built like tanks so will last literally 10 years unless you abuse them. If you want a more specific place to do research look up head-fi on google, great forums dedicated to headphones :D

+1 to ecc.
If you're worried they'll take abuse or go walkies, look at the cheap Sennys.
I have a pair of 201s for day to day use.
The bass is a bit strong but they only cost me £15. I don't care if someone stands on them.
