Hello,
I have been looking for days for information on what should be a simple midi setup.
I have a roland JX8P for a controller and some sounds set up to transmit on midi channel 10. I have the midi in and out plugged into a Delta AP 2496. I have the delta set up in REAPER as my midi in\control and my midi out.

I have EZ drummer set up in reaper as shown in screen shot. I am using Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for Audio in and out.

I have dragged an EZD groove into Reaper and I hear the drums when I play the groove. Oh, I have the EZdrummer midi track in reaper set to channel 10.

I can't get any response when I play the controller keyboard.
Please Help,
Angster

Try setting the JX8p to midi channel 1. Also, if there is an option to reset the midi channel on EZ Drummer to 1, do so.

And in my experience as a Reaper user, clicking 'yes' to the 'assign multiple outputs?' question that pops up when you choose the EZ Drummer just complicates things as it means something different to both drum sound plugins I use regularly (Geist and MicroTonic) and probably to your EZ Drummer too. Stick with 'no' to that question and it will assign just the stereo outs. Until you have more experience w/Reapers routing options, just use it in the most basic way possible.

Check your Keymap also...people often do drums on channel 10. If you're too far down the end of the keyboard(transposed octaves down, or transposed octaves up) you might be playing in the range of the keyboard with no drums sounds mapped to those keys. I had the same issue on a midi controller last night...no drums sounds, I dropped it an octave and ....oh there they are!

Is reaper free? I've heard of it but never asked what it is. I'm a cubase guy.
