PC limitations? Smh! My MAC can process MP3 quite well. " lossy compression" what a load if balony.
 
I agree about the snare, but I'm not hearing the upper mid frequencies spiking
 
The guitars have some painful frequencies spiking in the upper mids.

For what it's worth, I am also hearing this. For grins, I put a quick and dirty hi shelf on the intro and pulled things down by 3db and that made the guitars sound much less strident. I would also agree that the cymbals are too loud in the most recent link (which is the only one I listened to). The hi shelf cut also made the cymbals less abrasive, but turning them down may be a better solution than EQ'ing them differently.

Ok, I'll try that tonight. I never understood the difference between Hi-Pass and Hi-Shelf, except that they sorta work opposite of each other, thanks
 
"High pass" lets highs pass (a.k.a. "low cut").

"High shelf" puts the highs above a certain frequency "on a shelf" -- A lower shelf (decreasing) or a higher shelf (increasing).
