Which AKG mic is this?

SO i asked on youtube from this guy about his mic and he told it's AKG didn't tell the model. This mic sounds pretty nice. Can someone tell me which mic is this?

Dont know man. I checked out the akg website and only mics of this shape were in the perception series.

There's no way to tell without seeing the front of the mic. It's either a Perception 120, 220, or 420. They all use the same housing. The 400 is a slightly darker color. Either way, it's a relatively well designed cheap Chinese mic. The three models use very slightly different versions of the AKG logo, so if you can see the front, you can tell them apart.

Definitely an AKG Perception of some sort. I actually very highly recommend one. I have the Perception 220 and it's cheap, but it sounds so open and beautiful that I'm debating whether I ever will even need a really high end microphone because the sound is professional. If you're getting really picky about it, it can have a bit of a grainy texture (or what some might describe as brittle I guess, but I wouldn't) but other than that, you can get a great, high quality sound out of it. I gotta say, my mixes sound really professional right now, and a big part of it is this mic. Definitely look into it, because you can probably afford it and it sounds great!

Gotta chime in here .....

I have a few AKG perception 200's and to tell you the truth they out shined a few AKG 414's on a few vocal tracks at separate sessions.

I was really taken back by this considering the history of both microphones and the price difference.
