Octave course first or the Rickenbacker method? Differences? Preferences? Different nut required?
 
It is a personal preference so try them. When you settle and if you have issues with the nut, thats the time to re cut one. If it's really bad then stick a capo on as temp fix. Not ideal but you'll get the flavour.
 
Thanks, Mutt. I decided to take that Kawai. $100. I'm gonna take it to my local shop. The guys there are good and could use the work. I'm gonna have 'em go right thru the thing, clean up/replace the jack and switch and pots. I just have to decide which way to have them string it. If it was a solid-body I'd probably do it myself but I don't want to have to deal with access through the f-holes for getting at the gear plus, as I said, they can use the work.
