Hi,

Curious about how well a workstation like Krome or MOX interfaces with the DP-32. Anybody care to share their experiences?

Thanks!

Brad

I use the DP 24 with my KORG TRITON EXTREME and it works like a champ. I lay the drums first in the sequencer. I build the song with basic tracks midi synced to the DP24. You can only "pull" the sequencer not the other way around. This is no big deal, at least to me. I lay scratch VOX. Finish the track with acoustic guitar. BGV etc.

When I am done I dump separately each track on a given channel or stereo if I desire. I can change tracks anytime later because I am perfectly synched. You need to turn the MIDI on inside DP24 and your keyboard out....

Oh and once you lay your VOX, you can build in your Sequencer perfectly. Korg is great in this, no switching back and forth like I used to have to do with my ENSONIQ VFX-SD and AKAI 4 track cassette.
It does exactly what I need.

Thanks, Steve!

So, no sync glitches, eh? What about if/when you have to restart a song in the middle? Does the slave catch up with the master pretty fast?

How do the mic pres sound? Do you need to use an external mic pre to get the vocals to sound great?

Thanks again,

BC

No lag whatsoever in the middle of a song.

I'm guessing you could/should upgrade the mic pres...you can hear my song "The Lamb" which was done with the DP 24's mic pre's and judge for yourself. I use an Audio Technica 4040 for all my VOX and acoustic Guitar....it's on soundclick link below.....I SAW JESUS TODAY was done on the DP24 too....

To be honest I do my final songs with guys I've worked with in the past....this is more of a songwriter Demo for me.....I don't have the recording chops a lot of guys have, nor do I concentrate on that area....I'm way to critical of my own recordings and tracks to ever accomplish what I want anyway...

I just get it to a sound that's passable and move on....I'm sure I use compression all wrong and EQ incorrectly....But if it works I'm cool, because I know my producer will do way better than I ever could in 15 lifetimes....

I let the pros in on my end results and just concentrate on the songwriting and singing....I have found this works for me.....I'm sure you can hear the difference on my Soundclick page between my work and my producers.
