It's quite footery, but there's a black plastic assembly with three screws down through it, and a three spoke metal piece acting as a clamp.
If you remove the screws, the clamp lifts away and the plastic assembly lifts out.

Inside that is a little circuit board with your eq circuits, I think.

Where pin 1+2 are connected on there dictates the impedance of the mic.

AGAIN, this is all assuming it's the same as the re20. The data sheet implies so, but I haven't had one of these apart myself.

Anyway, It's not that hard to open it and take a look, plus the mics are very sturdy, so if you're keen I'd suggest opening both and doing a visual comparison.

If they're wired the same, then you can rule it out.

Here's a pic of the board.

And here's a diagram.

My memory is terrible, but If I saved it, I guess i had a reason.

Keep in mind, these are from an re20, so I expect it'll be different.
They're just a reference so you know roughly what you're looking for.

The red and green wires marked 'to XLR' in my diagram are the wires you want to check on your two RE27s.

so some idiot took it apart to make it sound like shit, lol. i will investigate it.

Oh yeah!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Steenamaroo again.

:thumbs up:

OMFG. I finally spread enough rep to rep Henry.

Remember where you were kids...
