My name so "normal" for being a solois artist name?

Hello, my name? Alberto Palacios

Probably for you, guys who speak english, is not that common, I don't know, anyway, I play prog metal in English I must say, but when I googled my name I found a lot of people with my same name, from other musicians (like electronic, dance, house), to even normal, random guys.

Question is, do you think it's a good idea to "adopt" another name like some artists do? I like my name, the idea of an English name isn't my favourite (Albert Palace, lol), I like my name, but don't know what you guys think?

What about "Concerto Alb Cious-Pala" A Classical reference, however contains your whole name.
 
Alberto Palacios instantly says to me "prog metal guitarist". i like it :)

I wounder if Eddie Van Halen had these same thoughts?
 
Well I guess I can keep my name after all.

I really liked the "Concerto Alb Cious-Pala" wilki82recuk, great idea, and I'll definitely use it for some project, thanks man!!

I guess there must be more than 1 Eddie Van Halen in the world lol, probably the same with the Petruccis, Satrianis, etc, etc.

Maybe I'll just pull a Skrillex (who's real name -oddly enough- is also Sonny from what I hear) type move and call myself my band name, Monolith ?

On the topics of names and TOOL. Adam Jones is a pretty common name. And there's like 4 'famous' Adam Jones' so. That must suck. I guess I just have to begin a journey to prove myself as THE Sunny Singh :D

I've only ever tried to promote my music under band names. I don't want to compete with fricken' Red Green for search rankings.

If you're doing prog metal, I'd say don't try to promote by your name until you've gotten a significant following. People still listen to metal bands. Pick a cool band name, even if it's just you for now.
