The Fast Track Mk II works fine and will do what you need.

If you have an extra $30 burning a hole in your pocket, you might have a look at the M Audio Mobile Pre which is also a good unit and future proofs you a bit--but, if cash is tight the Fast Track II is fine.

My microphone has a 1/4" output. Now how will i connect my dynamic microphone to the fast track II as u say that putting the 1/4" output in the guitar jack will create low levels and noise.
Whats the solution to connecting my mic with 1/4" output to the fast track II?

And will an audio interface solve the problem of both pre amps and mixers?

Dont.....Get a XLR female to XLR male cable. That way you are using the FT II preamp. :)

will a xlr female to xlr female cable/ adaptor work as i can find only that kind of cable in my country?

Just so we can be absolutely certain everything matches, what is the make and model of your microphone?

And from the very limited specs (sensitivity and impedance) given for that mic, it will work with the M Audio interface.

How good it will sound is anyone's guess but at least the fault won't be the interface. However, with a sensitivity of 2.5mV/Pa, I can see that the built in mic input on a computer would be hissy.

So with the interface the hiss will be gone and i'll get louder recordings. Right?
