Do you think the PLEK system at Gibson is good?

The slots had red ink all over them from the PLEK system.
That's not ink. It's buffing compound from the final prep on VOS finishes. Commonly bitched about on Gibson forums. I don't know Roger Ball and I'm not interested in what tales he may have told you. Just rework yer saddles or ship the whole guitar back. I don't see how Gibson can do it from 1000 miles away.

Maybe you should ask Roger Ball

PS. I had to refile my nut slots also, they were inconsistent too. The slots had red ink all over them from the PLEK system.

Red ink? Go back and watch that PLEK youtube video posted earlier in this thread, no red ink to be found. Furthermore, the PLEKis computerized - why would a computer need to mark a nut to show it's calculated optimal depth before it cut it? Sounds like someone at Gibson did some work to your nut and botched it.

My "concern" was the possibility you may have installed the bridge backwards. It sounds like you may not have, but that was very unclear at the point I asked. :)

So what is your basic argument again? Do you even have one?
Do I need one? I think the PLEK system is fine. I think Gibson QC or you have "messed up" yer guitar if it is in fact "messed up" at all. Try tweaking the truss rod some more.

I have my own PLEK system at home. It's a block of wood, sandpaper and some steel wool :D

You have it all figured out do ya? From about 200 mile away, impressive. All I wanted Gibson to do was send be some virgin saddles so I could redo the ones that needed it, they kept sending me the wrong ones, then they started sending me the wrong bridges, the last bridge I got was correct but it was already slotted.

PS: Here is Roger Balls signature, do you care to contact him and straighten him out also?

Roger Ball

Ooops. I won't report you. I don't roll that way.

BTW VP - If you check out the specs page on that guitar at Gibson you will see where it says the bridge is hand-notched.

Gibson.com: Gibson 50th Anniversary SG 12-String

I think Roger Ball is blowing smoke up yer ass. Or trying to get rid of you, one.

Oh I saw that, I read those specs over and over all last summer waiting for this, it was 3 months late. BTW, this is the 2nd one, I already sent the first one back. Apparently the first batch was rushed and mine had flaws all over it. Bad action, buffing divots in the Nitro, serial number unreadable, and misaligned machineheads.

I love the way you throw Roger Ball's name around like he was Lawyer J. Noble Dagget of Yell County.

I told you what the discrepancies are, inconsistent slot depth.

I assume nothing. unlike some here!
I can only comment on what you post. You are bitching about the Gibson PLEK job particularly the bridge slotting. You allege that Customer Representative Roger Ball of Nashville told you the bridge was PLEKed. I have provided evidence that refuted that. One of you is dissembling.
