Recorded another one for y'all to enjoy.
It's called 'Help me make it through the night'.

I've got a cold, but you'd never know.......right? :p

As always, Synth drums and everything else is me.

SECOND VERSION

Nice! I haven't heard that song since I was like 9! Solo sounds a bit buried, but that is my only nit. And maybe needs some banjo. :)

Yeah good call Jim. I could certainly work at that a bit.
Got Waves GTR free as a loyal customer (read sucker). That's what the solo's done through.

I'll get the uke or banjo out later. :)

Cheers Rat.

Just found out I'm off to see Don Williams tonight.
Thought it was next week but apparently not.

Nice :)

Wow. I am humbled :). It sounds great. I have nothing to offer here.

Do you record the vocals in a really dry/dead space and then add all of the verb after or do you have a nice room that you capture during tracking. It has a big, natural sound.

This tune is sort of familiar, but I can't remember where or when I heard it. Could it be part of some movie soundtrack maybe?

Love it Paul.
That reslo is a nice bit of kit.
I like the way it picks up the best bits your voice and makes it sound way beyond your years.
Nice resonant sound.
Yes the solo is buried but hey its still great

Smashing comments, thanks guys.

Jim/Kip, the lead is going to get ditched. Listening back today i totally agree.

I think I'll take Jimmy's suggestion and go acoustic on it. Probably ukelele.

I really thought the vox were weak compared to 'me and paul' but you've given me a bit of confidence here guys, thanks.

The vocals are recorded as dry as possible then verbed up. Probably over done, but I think it suits the songs.
I've recorded my voice with sooo many mics and never liked but I instantly liked the reslo. It's a keeper.
It seems to give a borderline distorted sound when it's pushed hard yet it was silky smooth on Pete's album (signature).

Heatmiser, It's one of those songs, I think every country singer has done it at some point or another.
It's bound to have been in a movie at some point but I couldn't tell you which one.

I'm planning a Simon and Garfunkel then a Don Williams soon if anyone's interested. :)

Ha. Smiling. Grew up on this stuff. Some pitch issues in the instruments. Not sure you need the strumming electric?!??! Super!

Cheers Elton.
My guitar isn't great, plus I'm not great at playing it lol, but if you'll agree to call it a chorus effect, I'm happy.lol.

Got my Ukelele on there. See what you think. :) I left in the electric rhythm but made it a really light bluesy crunch.

I think I'll still redo the vox when this cold is over.

Was that solo the UKE!?!??!??! Man this sounds really good. Are you doing all the harmonies too?

Yes to both, my hard rocking amigo.

It's pretty much a toy. £18 in Lidl. :D

Sounds terrific steena. Your vocals sounds great on all the songs I've heard you post on here and both the lead and the harmonies are very nice here. I don't know the original.

If you're taking requests for the Simon & Garfunkel cover, can I throw The Only Living Boy in New York or Save the Life of My Child in as suggestions?
