Elton there's a pub named after you about 2ks from me - The Clifton Pub! Sadly it shut down when the road closed for 2 years.
Who is/are Tonic?
Is this recording all you?
Some details'd be nice.
Nice guitar playing.
The mandolinish thing is good.
The thud/tea chest bass works well though it booms on occasional notes.
Sometimes the reverb or chorus on your voice is a little overpowering - or is that a mic technique issue?
Good stuff.

Ha, yeah, when I google my name I get English soccer scores. :)
Tonic is a fairly popular American band starting in the late "90's. Tonic
Yes, me on the acoustic guitar and trying to play the mandolin. The shaker is a loop and the upright bass is from the Miroslav suite that I keyed in. The vocals are sung by Chelisa Bailey.
Basically recorded in my bedroom.(which is part of the reason it sounds the way it does). I used a "Blue Kiwi" LDC on the vocals and mandolin and the Kiwi along with a blue "Baby Bottle" on the guitar.
I'm not sure what you are hearing on the vocal? Maybe her vibrato? I used very little verb with a slight delay. The mic was just above her mouth with the capsule angled slightly away at about 8 to 12 inches away. We spent some time on this as she is very sibilant.
Very little processing. Just some minor eq on the guitars and vocal. A little comp on the vocal and on the 2 bus.
Yeah, so this is what we do on "date night".
