Ok so i'm building a knock off les paul and i got this really beautiful neck. The only issue with the neck is that is an 1/8th of an inch too thin to fit into my guitar body. Does anyone know if you can shim it and have good results?

A picture, or a more detailed explanation, would be nice. To me, nothing is ever too small to fit except shoes. Too thin how? Front to back? Width? Is this a bolt-on neck? Way too many questions, so it's difficult to say how to 'correct' it.

yes it is a bolt on neck and i'm building a les paul knock off.

If you shim it, use something that is "uncompressable". You can't risk any play in the shimming. Aluminum might work, If I were to make a shim, I'd err on the side of caution, meaning I'd make it smaller than the required size, so you're not screwing up the neck.
