Critque on my band's first song?

I love the sound of this track. The composition is good. My only recommendation might be to turn the vocals up a bit. Otherwise it sounds great, especially for your first song. :)

The vocals certainly need to come up. It doesn't matter that greatly if you can't understand every word the singer says, but you need to hear the singer because they carry the melody and in the case of this song, the music isn't sufficiently varied to be able to do without a strong vocal melody. The bass drum and bass guitar could come up more as well. I'd say they need to be beefier.
Otherwise, for an initial attempt, you're on the right road.
I wish, when I started recording, that my critical ear had outweighed my excitement at actually getting a finished 'product' down. We live and learn though. Try and develop a really critical ear {it takes time} but avoid perfectionism.

Vox can come up, ya. Even the drums are on 2 57's? Drums on 2 mics has gotta be hard, I've never tried. They have a roomy sound, which fit the song well. The kick is kinda quiet, but it's not a dense mix and you can still make it out just fine. I think the mix sounds good, really good considering the light equipment list. The doubletracked vox sounds cool. Guitar mix sound good, nice job.

The recording is impressive for being done on 2 sm57 mics.

have to agree with most of the previous comments. A very good start. I think the production style suits the style of the song. Vox definitley need to be higher. Very good on the drums for 2 SM5s7. I use four mics for drums and it's still bloody hard work. High hat, possibly a little bit too much stick sound, could probably be solved by changing mic positions, but I am probably being overly critical now. The instrumental bit (was it wah guitar? I notice it said you used a synth?) seem a bit loud compared to the rest of the song, and that seems to show on the waveform.

Very good.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I placed one mic overhead, one mic on kick. The overhead was on the drummer's left, roughly over the snare, about a fifteen degree angle towards the drummer's right.
