Now if you only use one at a time you still only have one .......

I love face palming myself! :eatpopcorn:

Ok, here's the verdict thanks to all the way too honest bastards who made me feel bad. If something like this ever happens again I will NOT post it on here ;)

The seller and I spoke today. I offered an extra $600 to keep both mics, explaining that would save them shipping costs and offering me a bit of a deal so I wouldn't be inconvenienced by having to send them back and wait for the correct mic. He was hesitant at first but eventually agreed.

So in the end I got a brand new stereo set of c414 xlii's for $1400 canadian. Not bad, but I will have you know that I am not happy about spending an extra $600 ;)

I wouldn't want to do that in case someone else tries the same thing...seeing how honest I am ;)

I was just Curious I already have two 414 stereo pairs an a few older models..

Good job :) It was the right thing to do.

Congratulations on two counts. Honesty was rewarded for sure, even if you did do some sneaky bastard haggling!

Proud of you! :p

Well done dude! see it pays to be honest :) you've got the best kit at knock down price.

Makes me think of Danny DeVito in twins, All pissed off about taking the money back.

What a terrible film.

^^attitude of my entire generation.

We're doomed :(

It wasn't his fault. The seller made a mistake and was damn lucky the buyer was honest enough to contact him.
If I own a business and make a mistake, I expect to eat the cost.

Except legally life doesn't work that way, the old "bank error in your favour" BS doesn.t work - ignorance is no defence. If you knowingly recieve goods or services you are not entitled to, you would have a hard job resisting payment.
The OP dealt with this the way we all should, and he got a good deal in return.

How can he sell in good faith to the next customer after it's been used?
?
that would be his problem now wouldn't it?
He should have been competent enough to not ship two mics to someone who'd ordered one.

Lol you say that now, but once your hypothetical business accidentally ships a Gibson Les Paul instead of a crappy Starcaster, next thing you know you're suing for grand larceny. Like Bruiser said, ignorance is no defense.
