I know it's a pattern-based sequencer, and it wasn't developed principally for recording live instruments, but I'm wondering how its audio capability is, now that it's on Version One Million or whatever. If anyone would be so kind as to comment on its recording / editing strength (or lack of,) I'd appreciate it.

I love FL Studio... I'm not nearly as experienced as others here though.
I do not use the included Edison recording plugin... I never really got the hang of it, so I choose to record to the playlist instead.
I like the way you can move recorded audio around just like the various patterns. It can be sent to virtual mixer channels for VST effects. Maybe it's just because it's what I began with, but I like how it works, and I haven't really done well with anything else.

Go ahead and try the free demo. It can do almost everything but load saved projects. It's not even time limited.

(and just in case you aren't aware, you need to buy the producer edition or the signature bundle for audio recording. The cheaper versions leave it out. However, once you buy it, updates are free for life.)

What a bizarre approach.
