Hi guys,
I'm just confused again - to the point to where I have to bother you all
Goal is minimum CPU usage and efficiency of effects use - apply effects to multiple backup tracks.
I got 2 group of backup vocals with 5 parts each (doing a Queen cover, so no surprise there). So, just looking at one group of 5 as an example, I've created a group track and sent all 5 of them to the group.
Fine, 5 tracks are now balanced in level and all on one fader now.
I then want to run this combined output through a Compressor and through some plugin effects - a Vocal Preamp sim Using Line6 stuff.
The issue, I want to run this signal through an effects chain and get an output from the end of it. This is opposed to sending the signal in parallel to an effects chain and ending up with 2 signals; one raw and one effeted by the effects chain.
If I create an Effects Channel (Project -> Add Track -> Effects channel) and set up a chain of whatever effects, I cannot select this effects set from the "Inserts" menu to run the Signal *through* the effects chain.
I *can* select this effects set under the "sends", but then I'd have 2 signals to deal with as an output, the raw original and one out of the effect chain that I set up.
What am I missing here?
Then, going further, would I have to repeat all of this for the 2nd group of 5 backups, having 2 streams of effects, where really they could all be sharing the one?
Hmmm, I hope I've explained myself clearly! Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
FM
