Hi guys,
I was hoping to get some viewpoints and tips from this mighty forum....!, I'm about to embark on a recording project that'll hopefully make history.
My drummer is looking at purchasing overhead mic's, he's using a DW kit, he's into punk and his fave drummer is Josh Freese. He'd love to get a Vandals sound.
His budget is USD1400. He's open to modding.
I've never recorded a drummer. A lot of people talk about the brightness of overheads being a challenge. Would you say this would be a factor when recording rock drums?
Needless to say I'll post samples of the result when we've got some
Thanks for your 10c's worth!!!!!
