Yeah, I like this a lot better. The guitar still sounds big, but not super close and overpowering like the first. Vocals sound great, there is something I can't put my finger on, but sometimes mixing just a couple instruments can be harder than a whole band.

Thanks, but I still don't like it. Too much boom in the guitar. Wish we had a good small body for recording. Anyway, this mix has the lows cut quite a bit. I think it's pretty close now.

yeah, a small body does really well in a mix. i use a big martin for solo/folky stuff, or older sounds. But I have a small body taylor that sounds really nice in a mix because it doesn't add a lot of low mids boomyness. But, I prefer bigger guitars for this kind of song.

EQing out some between 250-400 usually helps my boomy guitars sit in a mix, and may help with what you're not liking. I like in now though.

Yep, I find myself cutting around 200 quite a bit, and in fact this mix has quite big cut there.

I think it sounds pretty good dude. I had to laugh a little because of Greg's Green Day comment, but what the hell it's a great song and she has a great voice and whoever is playing guitar did a damned good job. I like the hell out of the sound of it.

She played the guitar too. Did a pretty good job.

Nice! i love the girls voice!!!
Thanks, I agree. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

With the exception of the guitar just a little boomy at times, the final mix turned out to be pretty good. You've done a great job, as usual, of bringing the artist right into the listeners personal space - just like a personal concert. Well done sir. :D:D:cool:

Thanks for the nice comments. Were you listening to the mix I put up in post #22, or one of the mixes in the original post? Just curious if you think the guitars in the post 22 mix are still boomy?

Oh, oops, that was "redemptive mix", I didn't see #22 post, which is even better yet - no more boomy imo. Nice :)
