The other day a neighbour of mine overheard me playing guitar (quite badly may I add), anyway he gave some audio equipment to me and I'm not sure what to do with it.

I have two items:

Fostex FD-8
This is a digital 8 channel mixer with some built in storage.

This is missing 5 knobs, but they can moved from other places.
and

Fostex CR-300 Proffesional
This is recorder device that puts audio onto cd.

Both have been tested as fully working. Managed to record audio onto the FD-8 and transfer to CD using the CR-300.

If anyone can put these to some use, feel free to make an offer.

Thanks

Ben

If the CR-300 is free, I'll take it..!...

Are the pot shafts broken off on the missing knobs on the FD-8?

Not sure what you mean by "other places". Are some other knobs mechanically linked to those knobs? Or do you mean you can control the on screen knobs in your DAW by other means?

I mean knobs can be moved from one place (ie channel 1) to channel 2 if needed.

If no takers paying for them, then free (pay postage only)

I'll take the FD-8 if the postage isn't much. Sending PM now...

Both available for postage only, note im in the UK and this will be $150

Can't you find a local startup band to donate it to?

my band and church are both broke and looking for a mixer. would it be passable to use the fd8 in a live situation?

Sure it would work for live music. If you want it PM and we can take it from there.
