Hey whitestrat. Bravo. Very old school Willy G. Nice.

Thanks dude. That was neither easy nor natural for me--but I'm glad I took the time to do it. It was a good "stretcher." I need to play more bluesy things...

hmmmm .... did 3 of 'em tonight ..... can't get 'em uploaded for some reason ...... I'm going to bed ...... I'll figure it out later.

it's later ....... ok let's see ........... YAY!!! :)

ok ..... here's one ...... it'll probably be a day or two before I upload the other two 'cause they require a little mixing.

Oh, very smooth Lt. Bob. Ain't nothin' wrong wit dis - smokey, smokey sax.

Or maybe I will track tonight. Here's my take on the Am blues thingy:

(For the curious: homemade tele, neck pickup, into an Epi Valve Jr, with just a hair of OD from a Liquid Blues pedal, recorded with a Kel HM-2D, all black cables)

Fuck me if this ain't convincing blues. Great stuff.

I was thinking it may be interesting to post up several backing tracks from different genres so folks could dl and repost thier take on it.Not a contest, but a chance to check out how different players approach the same piece.
Pipe up if you are interested and I'll get some tracks up.

Good thread SheepardB. There should be more like this...

Hmmmm....afraid to let the wanker all the way out? Ummmm...that didn't sound right, but you know what I mean!

Bring it on! The more the merrier!

I had a bass player coming into the studio tonight to lay some tracks, but he just called and said he won't be here til 11 (it's 8 here). So I might just fire up another one and have a go at it.

Don't click on the link above, posted by cuthroat....you are taken to a spam web page that tries to install shit on your computer!!!

As soon as I hit that link yesterday, it went to a "security website page"...and it started doing scans of my computer trying to get me to click on a button to download additional "security" crap.
It's not anything you did directly. It's typical Ad-ware bullshit that is possibly embedded in that sharing website. I've seen this kind of thing many times before....it's a PITA and sometimes hard to remove if you should allow any of the installs.

Find a better way to share your files....something that doesn't require listeners to first download your files.

all righty ...... here's 2 more. After them sitting for a few days before getting a chance to mix and post them, I came really close to redoing them. I pretty much think the sax sucks a big ol' root and the gits don't sound like I'd want them to.

However, I felt that wouldn't be true to the spirit of the thread ...... to see what we would all do kinda 'on the spot'.
So ....... here's some crap but none of it is more than 3 takes.
:D

I did comp the intro git on the boogie from take 1 but for all the rest I used take 2. The sax is take 2.

On the rock song the background gits are take 3 and the solo is take 2 ...... hmmmmm, looks like I'll have to post them seperately ..... ok,
boogie first

no one else? I've done 3 ..... where's all the others ... I wanna hear!

I did mine. The "boogie" was the only one worth messing with.

And where's big-mouth, jam-master capt golden queers?

I does not know. They were all gung-ho a few days ago.
My boogie is the one titled "here's one" up above. Like I said ...... I failed to stay very true to the genre.
