Anybody wanna play?

This is a good idea. Some folks here will shit on everything. Always a person with no good ideas themselves.

Give me a blues jamm with some kinda key change or interesting twist.

edit- found em. This will be fun. Been too busy working to get to the jamm house but i can hook this stuff up at home pretty quick.

I'll try to get something posted by tomorrow....probably the Boogie in E.

Not sure if you noticed...but that Blues in Am is way off 440 tuning. I think I had to tune down 25-30 cents to try and match up when I first tried out the backing tracks, plus the organ in it seems to be out of tune with the rest of the instruments, so it made it hard to pin-point how many cents flat it really was. No matter what offset I tried it sounded sour. :D

The other two backing tracks are OK, but not my style, though I may give them a shot after the Boogie in E if I have time.

I did not noticed that the track was off.I am not at home now but I will replace it with another Amin blues when I get there.

OK, the A minor blues has been replaced with one that is in tune.I know that these four tunes are not for everyone. If you dont want to participate because the genres are just not your thing, then give me some input as to what you would like to see in the next round of tunes.Or better yet some one else could pick the next round.
I'm kinda surprised that more folks are not taking part.I know we've got some more players out there.

Yeah...I like this new Blues in Am, very laid back with a jazzy vibe.
I'll probably do that one too, along with the Boogie in E, which I'm having a blast with tonight!

Here's my stab at the Boogie in E...this is pretty raw and without any DAW dressing, other than some level adjustment to get the lead balanced with the backing track.

Boogie in E

I may do the Blues in Am tomorrow if I get a chance.

So like....where's all the other guitar players around here? ;)

That's funny cuz that's exactly who "jam people" are. People that can't write songs or come up with ideas have to resort to jamming....or wank noodling over some pre-recorded music.

This is just a way to share playing styles without having to use your original ideas. You are such a sour puss. How do you get your awesome songs and ideas? Do they come to you in a dream fully formed? Jamming leads to songs and songs leads to jamming. It's fun. Looking at your posts and responses, i doubt music is really fun for you. You act like it's a competition.

I get Greg's point about *mindless* jamming...totally,
...but I find practicing/playing to various backing tracks is fun.
It allows me to try things outside of my comfort zone, my original styles/directions. It's the next best thing to playing with other musicians, to getting some influence and inspiration from ideas other than your own (and it's less work than coming up with lots of your own backing tracks, though I've done a few of those too).

Besides...it's no worse than taking part in mixing contests of other people's tracks...or being a judge in one!!! ;) :D

If doing certain kinds music projects gives you pleasure...it's OK.
I think even Greg agrees with that. :)

Pretty much. I do my songs like cover songs. I hear them in my head and then just lay it down. It's very fun, and productive. I don't get why you'd think otherwise, but whatever. I've been doing it like this my whole life. No mindless wanking or jamming required. I like playing actual songs. Jamming is a douchey waste of time.

So, developing songs from jamming and jamming songs and riffs that a player loves is..... "douchey"?

And players who like to jamm don't also like to play good old five minute songs?

I love both.

Your problem here is you want everyone to think you are some sort of musical genius. Songs come to you fully formed. Jamming is a waste of time and you only ever plug straight into the amp. I have no such delusions. I love to jamm, play songs and experiment. Either you want us all to believe you really are that good (i don't believe it) or, you have limited yourself to some bizarre standard that you cannot live up to. Music is fun man! It's not a competition and you really do come off like a self righteous sour puss.

Aww c'mon guys...don't kill this thread before it even gets any decent amount of guitar playing submissions! :D

Heck...I'm going to go now and record that Blues in Am track...'cuz you guys are making me sad. :( ;)

jammers get so angry and defensive.

I do, totally. Yall jam your wanky, insecure asses off. :D

Is anyone ever gonna post something?

Nah......i just don't understand your close mindedness of the whole matter. Whoever doesn't do it your way is "douchey". You don't care what us "retards" think, yet you post your opinions as if they are facts. Get a grip yourself.

Wow!

I'm listening to my favorite band right now, The Band. The Who? ....NO, The Band!

And boy do they go on some trips!......Not.

Next up....some live Hendrix.

After that?.....who knows.

After a little dose of inspiration, i shall pick one of these jamms to jamm on. It will be fun and a challenge. I'm a play live one taker kinda of a player, but it might be take 5 that does it for me. But it will be a single performance with no fixes. I'll pick a good mood and go with it.

What I dont get is if it such a waste of time, why dont you fuck off and stink up a thread more deserving of your time?

I'm a gonna do one or two or all of 'em tonight I think.

I'ma gettin' drunk first though ...... it will be a celebration of my poor smashed truck.

OK...here's my version of the Blues in Am :
Blues in Am

And this is the Boogie in E from yesterday.
Boogie in E

Hey SHEPPARDB...who's backing tracks are these that we are using?
Would like to maybe include my versions on my own website...but I don't want to infringe on any rights issues, or at least I would like to give credit to the owners of the backing tracks.

Thanks!

I was hoping for a few more submissions, that way we can compare the different versions of each song.
I'm sure your take on the Boogie in E would be interesting too...since we all probably have a different approach to the same piece.
