I have been trying to help out a member here with editing issues. Cubase 5, 32 bit, 214MB project file with 14 or so tracks. I had him do a Backup Project to another location just to make sure all info was there. He sent it via Yousendit Express (my pro account). When I open the download in Cubase 5 or 6, it crashes while loading Mixer. I have never had a Cubase crash with 6 ever with projects 20 times this size. I had him Backup Project and send again in case of corruption during zip or sending of the file. Same result.

Any advise as to how to overcome this issue? Maybe his project is already corrupt and will only open on his system? Do I need to have him export each track separately and import to a new project?

Got any advice Guitargodgt?

Jimmy

P.S. I also just bought a piece of gear. Is it good and how do I hook it up to my thing I have?

LOL........

You should buy the whole gear, not just a piece of it. I saw on the Jetsons once where Spacely Sprockets had like 1/4 of a gear and it wrecked a machine and fucked up the whole plant.

I swear I bought the gear! The whole gear! And nothing but the gear! I was not aware Mr Sprockets was a horticulturist?

LOL!

Have him save a new copy of the project without any of the plugins running and see if you can open it after that (in other words have him save a differently named project file without any plugins so he doesn't lose the settings). Otherwise, I have no idea.

Yep, that is exactly what I had him do. It seems one of the plugins may actually be the problem I was trying to help with. Now I cant because it's not there! LOL! Oh well, I tried. :D

Thanks man. You are the Cubase goto guy. :)

That sucks.

Have him bounce everything out so it starts at zero, save the mixer settings and then try to start a new project with all of that.

For some reason however sends don't get saved with the mixer and you need to have everything in the order it was in order for the mixer settings to transfer right.

It's a little bit of a pain in the ass to be honest, but maybe that will work.
