It sounded pretty good - but I think I am all set with my HT-Dual - I don't really use many effects. I played with the tubes a little and I am sure if I messed with it a little I could get them screaming but I think I am leaning towards a consistent sound - just a tube being hammered into submission is fine with me
I mainly bought it for the pre-amp models, and banking. I'm not crazy into using effects, though I might one day
I leave the input tube off all the time so i can keep the guitars signal clean. the output tube seems more flexible that way for me too.
but, yeah, it's definitely something you have to spend some time with (and rtfm
) and get to know before you get in the pocket... take it to a movie, buy it some food, things like that.
