This will be my first time setting up a small home studio. Recording will be done in my bedroom. So far my currently gears are the Yamaha's HS80M monitors, M-Audio Project Mix, Roland Fantom G6, and a Rode NT1-A microphone. I don't record live band. Recording will only be personal use. The problem I'm having right now is that since I will only be recording myself singing etc, should acoustic treatment be necessary (besides mic booth?) If I treat the bedroom (diffusor/absorber) how does that impact the music? I will hear the music coming out from the monitors better (shorter reverb with more clearer and crispy sound), but you see the song will not change anything though. Why? Because I don't record anything except for vocal. What is change though is just how the sound impact my room because of the acoustic treatment - this will give me better mix. That's it! I might be wrong, but can somebody give me more details? Thanks.
Oh and by the way, I just order a guitar. So by recording the guitar into the microphone in my bedroom, yes, acoustic treatment is necessary. Ah I see now.
