Hey everybody, would like to share some of my work with ya's and see what people think of this stuff and help me with some ideas on how to improve it.

here is my own band...
myspace.com/lostinveronaband
listen to "mission 9"

here is a hardcore band i recorded a little while back...
myspace.com/hstf1
i did both the tracks on there

give it a listen, tell me if its any good :)

hey, what did you use to record them? sounds very old school style recording? like casette tape? i like the sound

nah man i just used cheap digital gear, used a a berringer mixer/pa as the pre amp and tracked/mixed it all in sony acid

listening to that hardcore band you recorded. sounds alright, a little bit unclear on the vox...are they final master versions? sounds like the bass guitar is way out of tune too. did you master the tracks or just like mix?

ps, mission 9 sounds really nice....but it does sound like it was recorded on old equipment?! how have you managed that? maybe its just noise off one of the channels or something.....i really like the sound of that track. the others sound less pro. that one sounds like lo-fi like that is how it was meant to be. i like that sound

I can't listen now as I'm at work & using a laptop thingy. But I can offer that you that mspace is daggy.

MySpace sucks cause I can't listen to your tune while I browse your site.
9 - sounds like the drummer is running out of steam every so often.
The guitars are okay. Bass is pretty good (low growl but still defined). The snare is blah, I don't know why but it's not snappy enough. plus it's too far away sometimes and sometimes not. I'm on the fence about the overall mood. The vocals sound far away and I'm not sure if that is too far away.
On the plus side I think the songwriting is very good and the performances are great. I'd love to hear you recorded with some serious gear - it would be sweet...
Oh yeah - post a link to somewhere other than MySpace where we can hear a high quality MP3 - you're doing a disservice to your grreat tune at MySpace bitrate.

hi everybody, sorry about my lack of reply, nets been funny.
thank you for all your inputs and yeah, myspace sucks!

thats our facebook, i believe the quality is slightly better there :) feel free to like us by the way hahaha

anyway, a big problem with the drums was that we mixed them BEFORE tracking because it was the only way we could do it, this meant no compression on JUST the snare and the kick was alway to quiet, we couldn't EQ properly, the vox on mission 9 are intentionally spaced to add to the vibe of the song (being abducted by aliens) and i hink it helps a bit to cover my less than amazing vocal performance without resorting to melodyne or auto tune (yuck)

good news is that i just got myself a zoom r24 with cubase and the recordings i'm doing with that sound far more impressive, stereo drums, way better guitar tone, i'll be posting more soon :D also, can anyone reading post some examples of their stuff here? like examples of how i could be doing things better? thankyou :)

btw, if you wanna hear us pro recorded, check out "here it goes" our only studio song!

More Australians - & from the lower Illawarra too - I'm from the northern end.
Face book is no easier to use for song listening than mspace.
Use those sites for networking but get Soundclick or soundcloud or use an upload site so we can actually hear more music.
The bass reminds me of the Thought Criminals - that was a great punk DIY sound but your overall sound is more modern & better - so you need to get some definition & tightness into the bass sound. It mayt just be fbook though. Repost from soemwhere else so I can HEAR you.
