Yeah I know it needs to be conductive. So soldering is the only option for me I think. I am just worried its a little brittle...

Isn't there a type of soldering paste that you mold into place on the body of the microphone, fit the basket on the body within the paste, then apply the heat?

This is how it was made originally.
But there was no capsule inside when this was done.
Personally I would not try and do this myself, but get it done professionally.

There's a way to do this without solder, but it can be kind of expensive. What you want to look for is conductive epoxy, also called silver epoxy.
