Hope this doesn't sound like a very dumb question.........
Hi, I'm trying to fit the polar pattern converter to my C1000S mic.
I've removed the wire mesh part to reveal the shock mount and capsule but there seems to be a black plastic bit of a different shape already fitted which is the same diameter as the converter so the converter won't fit over it. This suggests that it needs to be removed first before I can fit the converter. However I can't seem to remove it. I don't want to get too tough with it in case I do some damage. Please help. Thanks

Don't worry about it...those mics were damaged when they designed them. :D

Try your question in the Mic forum...maybe someone there has done what you are trying to do...

I wish you had told me that before I had bought mine, I had to learn the hard way. . . . . .

Do not in any way hold me reponcible for telling you this. . . But just do it, I felt the same way when I was messing around with mine, and I avoided fiddling, but just take the plung and give it a good yank. It worked for me, and did no damage. BTW those black bits don't change the polor pattern. one kinda acts like a pad, the other is supposd to sharpen up the top end frequency responce
