...and every amp has a volume control and nearly always some sort of tone circuit. Thats also an effect. I win..

Well, I can make "wah-wah" noises with my mouth, and that's an effect, too, so there!

If you reverse the polarity of the wah generator, it makes a distinguishable sweep tone starting at the parametric eclipse, rather than at the end of mid-cascade. This polar reversal is easily acomplished by flipping the zenor diod around (+ to -) on the PC board. Thus 'wah becomes 'wha'. This isn't really new. Frampton's been doing it for years. I think it was Steve Vai that actually stretched a reverb spring from pole to pole, giving the diode extra sustain. And so became 'whah'. Cool thread, you guys!
 
I would bet that the best selling guitar pedal is the Boss Metal Zone. Too many fucking people own those things for how shitty they sound.

Also I'd bet that if you combined all the sales of all the different variations of Big Muffs out there, that'd be pretty high on the list too.
 
Of the guitarists I know personally, with the exception of me, only one has owned a wah wah, and he sold that to me.
 
I'd say the MXR Distortion + is most likely the best selling guitar pedal.
 
Well, the documentary claims it's the best selling pedal of all time. I would think it's the many different types of distortion pedals. How could we really find out anyway? And who cares? It's my favorite pedal, along with compression and delay pedals. Did you all know you can get a basic wah, brand new for about $69 - $79? That's all that really matters.
