I've never gave you any suggestions on a mix before,
Because all of the mixes I've heard from you so far, are fine.
But if I were to suggest somethin' for this mix...
I would bring the guitar to the front more.
Just seems like it should be a little more dominant in this particular song.
You did say it's beyond salvageable though.
Unless it's just my cheapo monitors.
Just sayin'...:)

yeah little tweaks are subjective, so im cool with that, one mans too much treble enough can be another mans too much bass...its the boxiness that was/is bugging me...i think i approached this as a dance tune when in fact its a rock tune...its definitely better but i think i can improve it

it might be better just to redo the drums with some real ones even

dunno...oooo the drama :D

...my stuff is generally 30+ tracks and this is 50

50 tracks?...that makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

thanks for listening Doobs...hope you're not missing me too much ;)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing, so thought i'd give you a holla.

holla!

:drunk:

I would leave the drums how they are,..kinda gives it
a more "futuristic" vibe...
I like the drum machiney sound,..'cause Industrial is my flavor.
But yeah, that would be a good remix thought.

The two styles work great together. I thinks its fantastic, although its obscure sounding, I could see this on the radio as well. The Chorus is catchy, very well done. Great job!

thanks man...nothing on the mix at all?

i agree with the styles, i had a good listen to some of the bands folks mentioned here last night and it sounds in there...i think my next ones gonna seem so flat compared to this :)

You rarely hear Greg give such glowing praise...
lol
:D

he is basically saying they would be played at a homo infested rave party so it is praise indeed....

did Greg ever tell you he used to go to these clubs for pick ups...now considering they are "homo infested" I will leave the rest to your imagination :D

ftr I heart Greg :)

Let me tell you why I think this is great. Keith, the texture's, atmosphere and dialogue dubs were perfect - such a creepy mood! I knew when I heard your first sketch of this that it had great potential. The drums are nicely understated and fit well. Joe, I would have tried to put some big-balled guitar sound in their to kick the hell outta everything (I would've been wrong), but you chose a thin, almost synthy tone , THAT was brilliant cuz it works! The creepy, whispered verses were unexpected, but perfect, I can hardly tell who's singing, and that's ok, because you gave me what I was craving: A big, heavy chorus/hook! I freaking loved it! I have not heard a song like this on the board in the short time I've been a member. I can definitively hear this as a soundtrack for a dark, super-villain type film. The lyrics (the ones I can pick out) sound real cool, I understand the theme and like it! Did you guys post the lyrics anywhere? Well done Keith and Joe!! :D:cool::D:drunk:

They are homo infested now. It's either a bunch of fags or guido types. The cute and easy alterna-goth chicks that used to hang out and techno-dance clubs have migrated elsewhere or become haggy dykkes.

I hope we do another one soon....:drunk:

dude you werent required to stick up for your actions :D

Uhoh! I may have contributed to yet another 100+ post, gay-fest between Greg and Keith.

Oh Yea, I forgot to offer some mixing advice (I keep forgetting this is not the songwriting clinic) :) Keith, as far as the bass goes, I think the chorus might benefit from some real bass to add some low end, depth, and open it up some. OK, I'm done here...for now...:D

Here you go Brad:

Monsters

They’re inside your memory
Invading your mind
They’re cold-blooded mayhem
Waiting to unwind
No friendly neighbor
To answer your cry
Scream as the nightmare
Begins to unwind

Glass is breaking
The ground is shaking
They’re taking over your life

You think that this silence
Will hinder their vice
Another deflection
A roll of the dice
Encumbersome raging
With lies in disguise
The rolling of thunder
Untimely demise

Glass is breaking
The ground is shaking
They’re taking over your life
Suffocating
There’s no escaping
They’re taking over your life

:)

It's upsetting to me how badly things have turned in the "alternative" scene. Not that I'm gonna go bag bitches anymore as I'm a happily married man, but fuck, it's pitiful what a dude has to go through now to fuck some random cute chick in the ass. You damn near have to be some faggy indie hipster acoustic pussy.

if my wife leaves me ill shoot her and everyone on this floor of my apartment block then blow my own brains out...though I dont have a gun so i may just pay for hookers as an alternative to this action

Yeah I've seen your pics. You're fucked. :D

Oh Dear.
I popped this and the last couple of your pieces onto CD to play rather loudly on a semi decent stereo system last night.
Hmm, rather loudly too I might add - but, but only because a ROCK voice like Mr Mizzi's must be played loudly (even if he wasn't on the other tracks - I couldn't reach the vol knob to alter the beast).
I shall refrain from offering more than that I'll be doing the Casablanca Jukebox thing this evening also.
Greg; the references to you relate to the psych thing posts where someone suspected I'd use a sequencer & samples or something similar.
