hi forum
waded into immense problems yesterday when trying to record drums&bass on the HD24.. i couldnt set a level on ANY channel due to distortion!
id go from having barely any signal straight to EXTREME disortion/clipping!
ive never had this problem before, very strange!!
i was using a combination of 4 studiospares s900 mini condenser mics , some sm57s and an akg on the drum kit.. and an sm57 mic`ing the bass cab& a DI feed..also using a soundcraft fx16 mixer..
this really stumped me yesterday and was hoping some of you kind ppl may be able to throw some ideas around????

If this is happening on all channels, I'd suspect that the input module connection is compromised in some way. Open up the machine and re-seat it's connector. If that doesn't help, have the power supply checked. It could be that the branch serving the input section isn't putting out enough voltage.

 open it up? lol

thanks for taking the time to reply, i shall indeed open her up but can i rather embarrassingly ask where the input module connector can be found exactly and what it looks like ?? :o :o

your help is very much appreciated, thankyou ...

Just follow the ribbon connector from the power supply to the input section. There may be some videos on youtube showing the insides. There is also a user group for the HD24 on Yahoo.
