Not my thing sound-wise. Didn't care for most of the 80's.

Trying to decide whether or not I like the effects on the vocals, especially in the chorus.

Might want to check the low end on a home stereo. Sounded a bit loud.

I liked the long fade. Not enough of that done these days.

Thanks Keith,

I've ordered NI Komplete 7 elements, and the new Trilliam bass module for some updated sounds. I may go back to it. It seems making anything with Cubase Halion one is gonna draw the same (bad) opinions. I agree there's something there, Thanks for the support.

Just an FYI, Trillian is a bass module (like you said) through and through. I wouldn't count on it for updating your lead synth sounds (it has that ability, but you really should be counting on it primarily for the monster bass tones) Unless I'm misunderstanding what you posted there.

Don't give up on this song though, that hook has been ringing around in my head since I first heard it. I keep forgetting that it was here on HR.com that I heard it.

Thanks, yeah I meant update the synth bass sounds, I'm also getting NI Komplete 7 elements which has some orchestral sounds and new type synth sounds.

P.S. From the demo I heard Trillian has some really monster bass tones. Cant wait to try it out. Be Well.

hi there...if you want, i can help you out with the synths/keyboards

i might be able to create a new "playback" for ya to work with...so you can add your voice and guitar afterwards

give me a few days...greetings from the old world formerly known as germany

Hey,

You've gotten some good feedback already - I just checked it out and I agree with much of what has been said. I love the melody and vocals in the chorus. Very catchy. The chorus does seem to come about rather suddenly though.

I thought you had some low end build up throughout and I found the effects on the vocals to be a bit excessive, especially on the verses. On the chorus it kind of works though.

There is sort of a dated veneer to the synth sounds in general that might be cool in conjunction with some more modern sounds for contrast. I think you've written something with a lot of potential but it needs a little arrangement work and maybe some updated sounds. Just my .02

Great sounds like a plan.

Hello from the States.

Thanks, I appreciate the simple direct suggestions.

Well, I hope you don't give up on the song. I think you've got a good start and you can get it to where you want it.

The one thing that stood out to me was the vocals and how much compression you used. I can hear a lot of mouth noises, like lip smacks, sibilance, clicking, etc. I think you've got the compressor slammed to hard and it's bringing out all those unflattering details out. Definitely dial it down and use volume automation to control level with the changing dynamics of the song.

Most everything else sounded okay and you've got some good advice already (and wiliing help - cool).

You must have good monitors LOL. I agree, my voice is very soft so I crank the gain and comp. I could back off the comp and use more automation. Thanks
