it was never going to be my main thing...too much wrapped up in my PC

I just wanted to try Logic.....

still better it did it now and not a week or so down the line...but yeah..Mac sucks :o

The laptop I have has one of those mousepads. 18 months on I still find it weird. But it has two sets of button type things, each consisting of a button on the left and one on the right, the left and right click. I hate rodents but give me the mouse any day {Just not in my flat}.

I thourght you knew!!!

Nothing good ever comes from macs!!!

Try hitting it really hard!! one of my old ipods got some odd screen showing. So my mate decided to hit it, and it started working. The funny thing is it kept braking everyday and every time he hit it, it would start working.

it is just pure design over function imo....though imsure performance wise it'll be good, when i get a replacement..

btw guy at shop..no surprise, Me: the fans gone, Him: yup the fans gone...

i think it said press alt and one of the two buttons at the bottom..but nada...still worked as left clicks...tried settings but couldnt see anything there either..

mouse may be the best idea...got a feeling the wife is going to get this

ive had three ipods...bust them all, i use sony ones now...go snowboarding with them (think multiple crashes) and they work fine..they even survived melted snow in the pocket..... and no itunes to deal with either

im sure the mac will be great, i just though it was a bit ironic :D

how...do you do the right click thing on it?

Yo man hold control and click with one finger or if you have it set in System Preferences, you can click with two fingers without holding control and it will right click.

And don't get any bad impressions of Mac yet. When I switched from PC to Mac I had a very experienced recording engineer set everything up for me and he constantly told me to not try and compare it to Windows; just to take it for what it is at first and then customize it to suit my needs. It's really a powerful operating system once you warm up to it. And BTW I still use Windows, so I'm coming from both sides here.

And performance wise, all of the Macs I have ever bought take about a week to get up to speed. It might sound unrealistic, but in a few days you will notice a big speed increase. Props to you for taking the plunge and trying it out :)

maybe it just hated you for putting windows on it.

Just sayin.

I talked to some apple users re: my purchase for my SO.

they professed that even though you can run windows OS on a mac, and that is kinda cool....whats the point in buying one (a mac). Why not just get a PC and call it a day.

It made loads of sense to me.

But for her it was "in case there was an undaunting learning curve"

So i replied: "if i spend the $$$ to get you a mac. your not putting windows on it. I'll get you a dell if you want windows"

So i guess? Why did you put windows on it earl? out of curiosity?

it wasnt meant to be my new music computer so I thought if a put windows on it my wife could use it for work too...

scrapped that, ill just stick windows 7 on my lap top and keep the mac as it is

going to pick up logic pro tomorrow...the missus gets educational prices..so instead of $500 for studio its $150, looking forward to learning a new DAW :)

If you want to run Windows, run it in Parallels or VMWare. You'll be a lot happier.
