Pop Filter for Blue Yeti

Does anyone have the Blue Yeti and have used a pop filter with it? I've been looking around online for pop filters but it seems that the Blue Yeti doesn't have a "well-fitted mount' for the pop filter and that you would have to drill some holes to make it fit.

The only way I can think of doing this is to mount the Yeti on the stand and mount the pop filter there.

Normally you would put the pop filter on the mic stand, not the mic.

Okay, thank you. It's weird how the Yeti has it's own stand but no good place for a pop filter.

Does anyone know the difference between a split screen (two-sided) pop filter and a normal nylon one?

I'd just stretch a 58 windscreen over it.

With reasonable technique, you aren't going to need a pop screen anyway...

I'm not sure how big that thing is, but I would try what John is suggesting. Go to radio shack and get the foam things for about $5. If not, you could always get a normal wind screen and just attach it to something else.

I think the 58 windscreen would fit over it nicely, but I'm sure that windscreens do reduce some high frequency noises, though, it does protect condenser microphones from getting dust in the grill. I might as well consider a windscreen instead.

Anyway, I think I've found a way to attach a pop filter to the default Blue Yeti stand and that is to buy a "Atlas Sound AD-7B Long Microphone Tube" which is 3" long (wasn't able to find a shorter one) and has a 5/8"-27 threaded male end to screw into the Blue Yeti and clamp the pop filter on.

I don't think so because the microphone is 1.2 lbs and the stand is 2.2 lbs. Most pop filters won't cause the whole thing to tip over. Take a look at this picture.

OK.... I see now! that's kind of cool.
I was envisioning the big old clunky attach to the microphone stand kind of pop filter.

Haha, I can see it now. I've been asking around and it seems that the space from under the microphone to the base of the stand is about half a foot so the tube should fit in there just fine from the looks of it. The only problem is that if you ever want to fold the mic back in, you would have to remove the tube but at least you're able to use its own stand.

I've also discovered that the Blue Yeti might fit inside of a Rode SM2 shockmount but not entirely, and I'm envisioning that it would take up more space and would be too heavy to fit on another stand unless you place it directly on your desk.

You're right but the Blue Pop Filter is pretty expensive because most pop filters do the same thing except the metal ones might sound a little more better and last longer. I've been told to get the Avantone PS-1 Pop Filter.

The Blue Pop Filter does match the Blue Yeti very well. I just wish they hadn't put their huge logo on the pop filter but it's not a big problem.

Nothing a little sand blasting wouldn't cure as far as the logo goes.

But I think that the avatone ps1 is one of those larger pop filters!
How much is the blue pop?

I don't know just go with the blue pop.
But with proper microphone technique you shouldn't really need one.

True, but I've heard that the Blue Yeti is very sensitive to pops but some people want to take advantage of the proximity effect so they will go up close.

Go to Walmart and buy a cheap pair of pantyhose and a cross-stitch hoop.You can make your own pop filter relatively cheap.Use the legs of the pantyhose to hang the pop filter
If you really feel like going the extra mile you can get a conduit clip,mount it onto the cross-stich hoop threaded screw and mount it onto a mic stand.
