My guess would be either a record scratch with volume staccato, or a stretched-out snare, also with volume staccato. That's what I'd start fiddling with anyway.

Yeah bonobo rules. Never listened to shadow. I was talking about the snare specifically, how to get that stutter effect. Thanks for the replies
