Hello All,

I play guitar and use Reaper for my recordings and AD for my drums. I have over 40 songs recorded and another 60 or so in various forms of finality... My big hangup is transcribing them for copyright. I will not post them online until they are copyrighted but to date I only have 11 completed. I LOVE writing, playing and recording but I hate transcribing... Right now I am using Final, does anyone out there know of any easy, quick and dirty software I could use to make it easier???

You don't need to transcribe them to copywrite them. Just make a quick cassette tape version (or any kind of version) and maybe include a lyric sheet.

When you send in the tapes and your money, no one will listen to them. They will be on hold, though, and if there was a legal case, then they'd be there.

I wouldn't get hung up on it, it's easy to think stuff that's highly unlikely.

Or do what i used to do when I'd give my songs to chick singers I worked with to practice and I didn't want them to steal my tracks: at some dead space in the song, I'd have an announcement "All available cashiers to the front" or "Sears will be closing in 15 minutes". What a nice guy! :)

dintymoore is write. :D Go the the us copyright office website and you will see that there is the option of sending in a recording.

This stuff must be awfully good... ;)

I transcribed the first few but it just takes me too much time. The last few I sent in I sent an MP3 and the Lyrics with the chords on top...

Thanks for the help.... I'd much rather spend my time creating and performing than transcribing...
