Will you people please stop using myspace as a link to your songs that you want critiqued? Myspace sucks, and you're not doing yourself any favors by having your music mangled by the myspace player and then having someone else try to decipher what actually sucks about it. There are SEVERAL FREE MP3 hosting sites out there on the interwebs that will allow you to upload a high-quality 320kbps MP3......unless of course you're just looking for "hits" on your silly myspace page.

Use your head and your google and find a free MP3 hosting site that allows high-quality MP3s.

Mix your song down as a HQ MP3 or a wav and convert it. Simple.

Here's one that I use all the time:
www.lightningmp3.com

Yup.

Unless I have a good reason not to, I usually skip reviewing songs that are on MS entirely.

Not to mention some of those myspace pages take to long to load up and act a bit suggish.

Exactly...can't hear them accurately enough to even begin to critique a mix.

Greg's site works great. He turned me on to it and I dig it.
Soundclick now hosts @ 320k as well...at least their VIP accounts do.

I use dropbox...full 320 and 2 gigs storage initially for free...im up to 4 gigs for free now

Dropbox is excellent. Great for sharing files for online collaborations as well.

best bit is dropping your work on a desktop file and it automatically uploading to da world wide intraweb....genius :)

+1 for lightningmp3.com

I like the way you can actually download the mp3, and the 15mb per song. And any moron could figure out how to upload to it.

still using nowhereradio.com which I liked for the direct linking but the space is limited and it's usualy 1 song up, 1 song down. Need to look into dropbox

lightningmp3.com is excellent. It's been around here for years. NL5 started it. Very easy to use. 320 kbps mp3 can sound pretty good.

Soundclick isn't bad. 128 sounds noticeably better than myspace's 96 but mainly it doesn't screw up the EQ balance the way Myspace does. Myspace woofifies the low mids somehow in their conversion. Hear that Dogman?

Here's another I've used with success. 100mb max file size. That's pretty big.

What's the catch?

I'd bet 99% of the users here can't tell the difference between a 320 MP3 and the source wav.

99% of people in general can't tell the difference. Same goes for high-quality VBR MP3

I'm just looking for hits on my myspace page.

:D

Yet you didn't reply to my "Add to friends" message?

:D

And they probably also don't have monitoring that can reproduce very much above 16 kHz anyway.
