first that's not true. The other person that responded to that idea called it 'bizarre'..you are the only one that thought that wasnt a great idea...but you can keep throwing money at the stand companies if you like and watch your mics fall again and again...you know what they say about old dogs.
And it's a great idea for a VERY few specific situations. But it won't work with high ceilings for instance. I've recorded in very many good studios and I don't remember a single one of them having ceiling mounted stands.
How about people just paying attention to how they set up their stands?
I've been recording for over 40 years and off the top of my head I can't think of a single time I ever knocked a stand over and had a mic hit the floor.
Only times it has ever happened was on gigs and even then maybe 3 or 4 times in my 40+years of doing it.
You haven't made any personal insults to me so I have no reason to get personal with you.
But some of your information is simply incorrect.
