This is a pickle :(
I own a Line 6 UX2 with Podfarm installed at the moment. However, when i play the guitar through it, it sounds kinda distorted, and low quality.

I'm pretty much clued out as to fix this, its like it should be playing back at 44 Khz in real time/recording, but it sounds like its 22 Khz, almost like a distorted phone call... lol.

I've used other plugins for distortion etc, and its just disgusting. It makes me want to actually pack this whole thing in, which I REALLY dont want to do.

Does anyone know any tips/suggestions of how to maybe get it to record at 48 kHz? Maybe its a setting adjustment?

Thanks alot in advance,
Mark.

I had some trouble with some line 6 stuff the effects screwed up.

Is there a section or a link on this website anyone can give me, about setting recording devices up for optimum performance at all?
That would be sweet!

Im not saying you cant get a decent sound with what you have, but it is going to be very hard to beat mic'ing a tube amp with an sm57.

Your expectations seem a bit higher than what the line6 is going to actually do for you.

Yeh I'm beginning to think that lol. Its just the whole "sound like a pro" on the box. Pro noob maybe, maybe.
I got Revalver MK III there, it actually makes all the difference, its like WOW.

If you've got low sound quality, it is is your sound chain. Is it possible that your UX sound is channeled through your internal sound card and clipping?

As far as recording quality..
Have you tried a clean patch or stripping all the effects, gain toys, eq off to get back to a straight simple tone to eliminate all those variables? -or perhaps 'no modeling at all, just direct guitar that should be possible.
Any decent instrument d/i into converter should at least do clean full bandwidth. (Given reasonably clean strings! :)

Not sure on the 'other plugins' thing. Same problem' with different software?

I just plug headphones straight into my UX2, because i dont have powered monitors at the minute. Apparently the sound card in that overrides the built-in sound card in my comp. Its not a noise gate issue either, it just sounds really pants, and non-direct. Loads of 22khz screaming backround noise :(

Yeh, if i turn off all the effects, the sound is fine. Its when i used an "Amplifier" on the Podfarm (UX2) it screams 1KHZ at me, and just sounds lame. I'll try turning down the input on the Podfarm software, its most likely just overkill on volume, maybe that will magically make it sound better :(

Progress. Yeah, sometimes it's best to just start real basic and get a handle on each thing you add in, a little at a time if need be, and build fom there.
