Problem with LA-610 MKii and K2 Rode mic

I have my rode k2 mic going to my la-610 mkii, then to mbox mini 2 and then into my computer.

When i move the la-610 pre amp level knob to 7, i get a loud hum noise.When i record the vocals its really sensitive, clips easily.

I have the mic placed about 14 inches away from my monitors, could that be a problem?

I also noticed when i record into pro tools i clip very,very easily!, no matter how low i put the pre amp!.Im not clipping on the meter on my pre amp, but i am on pro tools????
