So I have my new roland kit (though not to be opened till Christmas!) and I'm reading that handy as the stock samples are, generally sound libraries are a good bet for a more authentic sound. Three names come up again and again; addictive drums, ezdrummer and superior drummer.

Now from what I gather, ezdrummer is a processed. out-of-the-box version of superior drummer 2.0. The sounds in SD are raw, but there's a much greater opportunity to tweak them. Having said that, the EZ Drummer samples sound pretty good to me.

I don't know all that much about Addictive Drums, from what I can recall of a demo version, it seemed there were only three kits to choose from.

I'm no drummer, but very excited about the prospect of getting workable sounds from my electronic kit. So what do you guys think?

Also, Gerg, I'm sorry I sold out bro :o

EZ drummer and SD are basically the same...except SD can be tweaked infinitely...its not that they seem any rawer..I think the standard kit is sampled better perhaps

I bought it around a month ago...its on a special deal and its brilliant...the one kit will do me a long time but already there are expansion packs, NY studios, Metal foundry and I think a vintage kit is also available

Addictive drums look and sound good as well from what Ive heard but at the end of the day I wanted something I wouldnt grow out of and could expand on, and SD2 fits the bill

What did you get, the Roland TD ? Why not use the module that come with it?

I'd like to hear some actual recordings done with this if anybody here has done one. I've heard the youtube clips but I'd like to hear a recorded song with the electronic kit.
