You've obviously never played a 112. It's the entry level Pacifica, more or less on par with a Squier.
no..Ive played one for many years..Id say its at least on par with the Mexican Strats...

Id be happy too...just remeber who earl is...and look at his link...he has only been at this for a few months and recorded 2-3 things...if the links are really his...most of the rest of us have been doing this for over a decade...you would be better off just putting him on ignore.
Okay, I'm considering shutting down this thread if it continues trending the way it is. Debate is healthy, a little tongue in cheek commentary is fine also. Don't let conversations stray too far from the topic. Don't get too personal and if you feel you need to insult, take it to the cave. Not even PM's.
Cool???

Hearing diffrent idea's is the point of this isn't it. It's up to the reader to sort out the good from the bad.
Nope...it was like you were a child that just walks into a conversation and decides they are a big expert on a thread that they never even saw...just to be an irritation
And you were a huge dick about it!!!
If you had to build a studio just to get some musician friends...I can see why you had to take those steps...but the reality is if you have to offer them something to be your friend...they are not really your friends.
Darrin, out of morbid curiosity, can you take ANY disagreement or constructive criticism without having to reply with personal insults?
I haven't said a word about your friends or your name or whether or not I think you're cool because you have a studio. Nor have I called you a child or a huge dick or really anything else. I merely said, quite rightly, I think, that it's worth considering that this thread is being discussed in a website called "Home Recording.com" and that it's about home recording, not recording, that some people just enjoy the act of recording, and automatically telling everyone who doesn't have a couple grand to spend on gear not to even bother is counterproductive because so many people here got started on shoestring budgets.
And you reply by saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, then go back to holding your tongue. Also, change your name, it's in poor taste." I think if ANYTHING in this thread was in poor taste, man, it was that response.
take it to the Cave..
Can we get back to the topic? I really would like to see the results on this comparison. I am definitely in the market for a preamp.
So far, others on this forum has convinced me of the M-Audio DMP3. But I want to see if the Studio V3 will be 'good enough' for what I do since it's cheaper.
we are back on topic..id aim higher than the V3...its only presets from what i can gather and that HAS to be limiting
Well, in terms of prices, the DMP3 is not that much more than a V3. (Well it is in percentage wise but actual money spent not really.) So maybe the DMP3 is the way to go if I decide that's the route I am going with.

I saw a comparison over on gearslutz between a DMP3 and a $2500 Avalon (or something in that price range) and many responders couldn't tell the difference. It was an eye-opener. I've always considered getting a DMP3 for myself.
