Art tube MP vs Studio V3?

....and just to avoid confusion, which is surprisingly abundant in this thread, my name ain't really TeyshaBlue....and I'm not a black chick.

You're right, $150 won't buy Neve pres and Nuemann mics and a bunch of high end software and a room full of traps and diffusors. But that's not what someone needs to get started. What's so hard to understand about that?

And if that guy took your advice and got what he wanted out of a studio, more power to him--and to you. Hell, I hope he came to your studio!

.

I can dig that...its when I see a post on somebody that is doing a single project with no furthur plans...and only has $150...I dont suggest he jumps right in and start something that will cost him at least a thousand dollars and he will get marginal results with that.

EDIT - and I negative rep'd you for the name crack before I even saw that you'd left me negative reputation for, um, evidently simply disagreeing with you. Charming.

Funny...but I dont give a flying fuck about neg rep points...but seeing as that is all you have to show for what years you have put into this "hobbie"...it sure seemed to get under your skin.

What, that you're so defensive you feel the need to tell me that "you are 100% off base...you have now idea what you are talking about here." (sic) simply because I don't agree with you?

I've got rather a lot for the time I've spent recording - a whole bunch of new musician friends, both here on the 'net and in real life, a bedroom studio that I can fuck around in on the weekends and make some pretty decent sounding demos in, a pretty sick guitar rig, a couple invites to join bands over the years after people heard some of my music, a fair number of rather attractive girls, countless hours of enjoyment, and hopefully in about a year or so a finished album of instrumental guitar tracks. I have zero regrets. :)

Or are you still trying to make some sort of an insult based on the fact that I happen to share a first and given name with a serial killer?

No. You don't own a "Members Only" jacket and you don't own a "Pro Studio".

What can you even have done in a pro studio for $150?

My worthless input here (no pun intended). I bought a presonus bluetube and it is about worthless. I use it as a DI for guitars and bass so it's not that bad. I could change the tubes but I don't feel I would use it anyway. I have a cheap NADY 8 channel pre that sounds a lot better than the bluetube. I use cheap MXL condensers, and even cheap stands. I am pretty happy with what it all does for me and all together cheaper then going to a pro studio. I would buy good gear if I had money. But I play music so I'm broke. Even if I had money I still wouldn't pay someone else to record me. DIY or DIE seems to be my lifestyle. I don't make music to make money. I make music to make music.

I can understand where darrin_h2000 is coming from. I wish I would have saved and bought some really good pre amps and mics. I bought cheap because I wanted to stretch my money. I can record 8 decent tracks at one time for under $1000 dollars not counting my pc. I have never used a so called pro mic pre, But I've heard pro recorded CD's and I can't tell that much of a difference.

All the back and forth made for a great read. Thanks to all involved for the free entertainment. :)

What are the differences between them besides the added features of he V3?

MF has the original MP going for 30 bucks.. and gets better reviews than the new one. Is there a difference in sound quality?

I'll be recording acoustic guitar.

If you could have either for the same price, which would you choose?

I don't think there will be much difference. I would get the cheaper of the two if your trying to save a buck and don't care for the extra features.

Dont bother White Strat..

hes posted my reverb nation link to show I have no fans (its in my sig line) which is verging on stalkingly hilarious

and now he's accusing me of posting someone else's recordings..I mean they're not even that good..its unbelievable...never have I come across such a sordid bitter little individual..no wonder many here despise him :(

I was going to sign up just to be your #1 fan

I am now a fan. Is there any perks?

Keep up the good work.

you get good rep

a button badge

and something else that involves me removing my teeth and I can only really describe in the cave forum :D

?

Nope...it was like you were a child that just walks into a conversation and decides they are a big expert on a thread that they never even saw...just to be an irritation

And you were a huge dick about it!!!

If you had to build a studio just to get some musician friends...I can see why you had to take those steps...but the reality is if you have to offer them something to be your friend...they are not really your friends.

I think I warned of this in the second post ;)

You will get a lot of negative posts here about the ART tube..many here think them just a gimmick, possibly they are...but the many here who slate them are mostly professionals and therefore have higher expectations of sound quality from products imho....

.....button down the hatches and good luck

my next post was to say hi to darrin...its about as predictable as gets :)
