FALKEN

*************************
Like many people here have been at one point I need to unload some recording gear that I don't use as much anymore. I have pretty much decided on setting $1 no reserve ebay auctions for all of it just to get it gone. I was wondering if anyone has advice on obtaining shipping materials, shipping quotes, basically how they found the best way to go about doing all of it. thanks.

If you know the approximate weight you can go to USPS Fed Ex or UPS on line and put in the info it asks. If I remember right, junkbay has the tools to help you with that. I think they will take you to one of the sites I mentioned. Or you can set your own shipping fee. As far as materials is concerned you can use the original boxes (if you still have them) or larger boxes so you can pack around the smaller box. Theirs no need to buy new boxes because they can get expensive. I hope in all this babbling I made some sense.

You sure you don't wanna post it here first? Just for a day or two? :)

yes I probably will. But I want to get everything gone so I will be getting all of the shipping materials, doing all the measurements, packing everything up, all at once, this saturday or sunday. so either way I need to find the best way to get all the packing stuff and decide to buy a scale (I dont own one) or do something else.

I was going to ask that as well but I have no money so it wouldn't have payed me to ask. However, if he had an old DBX 150 NR laying around I could come up with a few $$$

FedEx Ground is the cheapest. Just sign up for an account, have them bill your credit card. When I ship I just go online, print out my label (take a VERY rough guess at weight and size, it doesn't matter, their automated machines weigh it and measure it and bill you based on that). So I just run into FedEx/Kinko's and drop my packages on the counter and leave. I don't even have to talk to anyone. Usually a 15 pound package is around $14 to $20 to ship depending on insurance values. The biggest bill I've ever had from FedEx was $35 for a huge package that weighed 80 pounds and had $1400 worth of insurance on it.

USPS is the MOST expensive route to go. They charge a lot more than UPS and FedEx.

Of course, if you need them to package your items for you it's a lot more expensive.
