Looks like they recently changed policy and are now charging for ISRC codes. But, for a one time fee, you get a master number that is good for 100,000 codes per year.

www.usisrc.org

You can also get them through CDBaby.

You need a mastering app like Wavelab, Soundforge, cd architect, to encode the cd's.

only way?

thx so much... so only way is to pay ?

shitty!

Yeah, i don't know for sure. Like I said, it looks like they recently changed things. Google it and see if there's something else that comes up. maybe there's another source for isrc codes that's still free.

The artists should be supplying the codes... Not you.

You might want to learn a whole lot about this stuff if you're going to be doing it for $$$...

Places like Tunecore and CD baby provide these for free when you sign up for their service.

If you want to be able to provide them, I think it's $150, but you get a boat load for that much money, so you can probably charge a fee to your client.

John's right, usually this is the client's or labels, responsibility.

It's my understanding that if you embed these in the wave files it will not pass down to the mp3 made from these waves.

...we SHOULD KNOW THIS...but...HELP HELP HELP!!!

OK. We MUST be losing our minds.

Using Toast10 to create final CD. Utilized 'add text' option in Toast 10, have ISRC Codes for all songs and song titles from the Artist, we also have CD UPC Code and have put all information in accordingly. We burn CD...put in car, or open, the disc plays but tracks aren't named. I'm assuming ISRC codes aren't in there either.

What the hell are we missing. Have gone to Roxio support, we've done what they say to do, is it our burner? CD type. DEADLINE LOOMING! HELLLPPP!!!!

i got wavelab

i got wavelab ..i was told i can put isrc codes in there....anyone know how?

i see a part that says track info "wave attributes" broadcast audio extention..

i think i put it there...???

the management of artist has code for me to put in...

One of the best manuals out there... You might want to read it.

(Jeebus - Doesn't anybody just RTFM anymore...?)

Well of course he has the... Wait a minute --- Are you implying that there could be some possibility that - no, it can't be true - that this guy might not have a truly legal copy of the software he's using...? And he'd actually have the lack of common sense to come to a public forum and ask for help with said software?

I almost refuse to believe such chicanery could possibly happen.
